Yukon Photon XT
a large part of hunters in the Czech Republic got acquainted with the world of night vision through the Yukon Photon XT, which at the time was unbeatable in price/performance ratio. This night vision used two types of integrated illumination - laser (780nm) or diode (810nm) - these are wavelengths relatively close to the visible light spectrum, with a distinct light signature.
Despite the fact that the Yukon Photon XT contains a CMOS video chip, which is characterized by very good sensitivity to IR light, with the integrated illuminator it is possible to observe decently up to a distance of about 80m, after that the image quality is poor due to low illumination.
The mentioned sensitivity becomes apparent when using a stronger illuminator - with the use of the Luna 940 invisible illuminator, the range of the Yukon XT is significantly extended and the recognition of game species is possible up to a distance of 300m!
A real-life demonstration of the Yukon XT (comparing the integrated illuminator with our 940nm illuminator) - the video quality is compromised due to the not-so-high quality video output of this device
Yukon Photon RT
This device has not reached the popularity of its predecessor - it has not brought any major improvements over the XT model in terms of display, the advantage is that it already uses an integrated 940nm illumination, which does not disturb game. Its range is again limited to about 80m.
When using the Luna 940 diode illuminator, its range (in terms of the ability to distinguish game) moves to about 300m, so again there is a significant increase in its capabilities!
Yukon Sightline
This instrument again bears the typical features of the Yukon family - i.e. very good sensitivity. In terms of price/performance ratio, it is a worthy candidate when choosing a mid-price NV (where we include the Pard NV008, and ATN 4k), and worth looking at. Produced in several illumination variants, the power of the integrated 940nm again does not sufficiently exhaust the capabilities of this device - with the Luna 940's invisible illumination it is able to distinguish game species at 350 - 400m (depending on conditions).
