ATN X-sight 4k
The manufacturer supplies an external illuminator with a wavelength of 850nm, with which it is possible to distinguish game species at full power at about 300m, however, there is often a reaction of the game, which makes it necessary to find a suitable alternative.
Another disadvantage of the supplied illuminator is the use of CR123 batteries, which make the operation of the illuminator significantly more expensive (if non-rechargeable batteries are used). In the case of using their rechargeable alternative, the risk of burning the diode increases (these rechargeable cells usually have a higher voltage, which can cause the control electronics of the illuminator to fail).
If you are looking for an invisible illuminator for this night vision, feel free to use both of our products at 940nm wavelength:
Luna 940 Diode Illuminator
When using the Luna 940 illuminator, you will achieve 4k in view with the ATN at the same distance as with the supplied illuminator from ATN (i.e. game species recognition at approx. 300m), however with the advantage of zero game reaction to the illuminator.
Laser illuminator L940
The advantage of the L940 laser over the Luna is the ability to better narrow the beam even at greater distances (this is due to the coherence of the laser light), thus keeping the energy of the illumination in the field of view and allowing observation at distances up to 500m!
So which illuminator to choose? On the ATN 4k the Laser will be better than the Luna from about 150m away, the choice for this depends on how far you want to observe (and possibly hunt) game.
